We promise; you are in for a special ride!The location of the role is: Vienna, Austria or GermanyAbout the jobIn the role of a Senior Global Automation Engineer, you will become part of the global RHI Magnesita Automation team consisting of 6 people in total based in Austria, Germany, China, and Brazil. The purpose of the team is to support the implementation of state-of-the-art industrial automation technology like robotics and AGV, to enhance productivity and reduce costs. In this position, you will directly report to the Global Head of Automation. With your technical automation skills, you bring a deep understanding and knowledge of automation to RHI Magnesita. You will understand the challenges faced by our production sites and will alternatively find solutions to implement. In this position, your projects will entail 50%+ travel to production plants primarily in Europe, but also in the Americas and Asia.In addition, your tasks will includeProviding standards/guidelines as to what technology to implement and support in the executionProviding new ideas, solutions, or technology for RHI Magnesita’s global production environmentBeing the technical expert to support local automation technology projects:  Being the technical go-to person and handling internal and external technical discussions Supporting plant on concept engineering & basic engineering Tender creation and negotiations with vendors Monitoring project progress, analysis, and resolving technical issues About YouWith your great enthusiasm and creative mindset, you bring new ideas to the table, not only as an individual but also together with your colleagues. You see change as something positive, can adapt quickly, and like to courageously help shape the future of RHI Magnesita.What do we expect from you in terms ofEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, or any field of similar relevanceLanguagesEnglish – Proficient/Fluent German language skills will be considered a valuable assetWork experience, knowledge & skillsProfound knowledge of Industrial Control System (DCS, PLC, SCADA, MES)Several years of experience working with robotics and AGV projects with tasks like PLC hardware & software programmingExperience in writing process control strategy documentation (PCSD) and use of Historian data & trends (such as Aveva PI Vision) to improve process capabilities & controlSite commissioning experience either for a supplier of automation technology, a system integration supplier, or a major industrial production companyStrong knowledge of PLC systems from high-end suppliers like Siemens/ABB/Honeywell/Rockwell etc.Project management certification such as PMP or similar is an advantageWhy you should work for RHI MagnesitaYou will perform in a customer-focused environment.
