Job ResponsibilitiesThe Strategic Commodity Manager is part of the
Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) organization and will interface
between Lam product teams and industries/suppliers that provide core
component technologies. In this position you will play a vital role
managing suppliers by working across organizations to formulate and
execute commodity strategies, align development deliverables,
negotiate contracts and agreements, benchmark suppliers, and resolve
delivery, cost and production challenges. Your Responsibilities would
be to:develop and implement commodity strategy, including long range
capacity planning for 3+ years into the futuretake material sourcing
decisions and be accountable for performance against cost, quality,
and lead time goalsonboard new suppliers considering evaluation of
capability, implementation of legal contracts, assessment of financial
risks, establishment of performance reviewsevaluate supplier
reliability and develop new supply sources where vendors or suppliers
are no longer competitiveset improvement plans and follow up for
resultsgather quotations, evaluate bids, and consider various supplier
performance metrics to award businessevaluate risk of ongoing
availability of material, address obsolescence, and last time buys.
Implement stocking strategies and contracts to mitigate future
availability and supply chain risksforecast cost impacts, approve
pricing changes, and negotiate cost reduction with suppliersinteract
with engineering, manufacturing, and other groups to understand cross
functional impacts of design and manufacturing strategy decisionswork
cross functionally with Supply Chain Operations, Logistics and all
groups involved to minimize supply chain disruptionsMinimum
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business
or Engineering disciplineat least 5 years of experience in a similar
role, preferably in semiconductor industrygood understanding of
manufacturing processeswillingness to learn new skillscreative
thinking and strong problem-solving capabilitiessolid analytical and
written/oral communication skills in English. German knowledge would
be an advantageability to communicate in a cross-cultural
environmentwillingness to travel internationallyEmployment in
AustriaThis position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining
Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in
occupation group G. A higher payment is negotiable depending on
expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
